Notice of Special Meeting

The Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 beginning at 6:00 pm at the Administration Building Conference Room, 7509 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, North Carolina.  The purpose of the meeting is for the Board to consider the appointment of a new Commissioner to fill the current vacancy on the Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners following the recent death of Commissioner Nita Hedreen. The public is hereby notified and encouraged to attend.

Notice of Public Hearing

The Board of Commissioners of the Town of Emerald Isle will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 pm on September 9, 2014 to receive comments on the proposed owner-financing of 50% of the sale price for Lot 1 – Shell Cove North (adjacent to the Emerald Isle Public Boating Access Area).  The proposed owner-financing amount is $86,077, and would be financed over a 10-year term at an annual interest rate of 0.82%.  The public is hereby invited to attend and comment.

Public Hearing Notice

The Town of Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the Town Board Meeting Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 6:00 PM, or as close thereafter as possible.  The purpose of the hearing is to consider a Staff request to create a Reed Drive Overlay District to reduce the required rear yard setbacks to 15 feet for the double-frontage lots along Emerald Drive (NC 58) from 8712 Reed Drive (PIN 538307771512000) to 8502 Reed Drive (PIN 538308987255000).  The usual 30-foot rear yard would be reduced to 15 feet due to the presence of a 200 ft. right of way along NC 58.  The public is hereby advised and may make comment at that time.  The proposed wording of the text and map amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance can be reviewed at the Department of Planning and Inspections, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC.

The Town of Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the Town Board Meeting Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 6:00 PM, or as close thereafter as possible.  The purpose of the hearing is to consider a Staff request to expand the Eastern End Oceanfront Overlay District to include the Ocean Reef condominiums.  This would reduce the front yard setback from 30 feet to 20 feet, which would give the oceanfront homes in Ocean Reef a better chance to fully or partially rebuild if destroyed more than 50% by fire, wind, etc. The public is hereby advised and may make comment at that time.  The proposed wording of the text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance can be reviewed at the Department of Planning and Inspections, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC.
