The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City will hold a community forum on hurricanes on Wednesday, August 10. This event will begin at 9 a.m. in the Town Board Meeting Room at 7500 Emerald Drive, next to the Police Department. 

These forums are free and open to all. You will have the chance to hear a presentation from a meteorologist with the National Weather Service on hurricanes and their impacts on Eastern North Carolina. The NWS will go over why you should never focus on just the category of the storm, along with discussing all of the impacts any tropical cyclone can bring. They will cover the hurricane outlook for the season while emphasizing it only takes one storm to make an impact on your life! At the end they will transition to a community discussion and you can ask any questions you have.
