PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
CULVERT PROJECTS: Work to begin on Bogue Inlet Drive Cedar Street
The Town of Emerald Isle has received $631,000 in federal grant funds to replace culverts along Archers Creek.
The pipes at Cedar Street, Bogue Inlet and Old Ferry will be replaced.
Roadway drainage and paving improvements are part of this project.
Detour routes will be published online, and signs will be placed on local roadways to assist motorists.
Only one culvert crossing at a time will be closed.
What will take place during the months of November and December 2023?
Cedar Street and Bogue Inlet pipes will be removed and replaced between November 1 and December 31, 2023.
Survey work and utility marking has begun along Cedar Street and Bogue Inlet
Construction along these two roads may begin this week.

FEMA 428 Funded contracts to replace three culverts were awarded by the BOC on September 12, 2023.
Thomas Simpson Construction won the bid for Cedar Street
Thomas Simpson Construction won the bid for Bogue Inlet
Waters Contracting won the bid for Old Ferry (ETA for construction is January 2024)
There are NO outside permits required for these projects (ARMY Corp. nor CAMA), per Moffatt & Nichol Engineering. CAMA has provided written documentation that a CAMA permit is not needed.
