Bill has been a member of the Emerald Isle Fire Department since 1987, and has been Chief since 1989. Prior to that, he was a member of the "Township Six Fire Department" located near Havelock, and has had experience as an Assistant Club Manager at Cherry Point. He is a native of Havelock. Over the years, he has attended and taught numerous firefighting classes. He is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician. He graduated with Honors from Coastal Carolina Community College with an Associate Degree in Fire Science. He and his wife, Susan, live in Salter Path.
