Notice of Public Hearing

The public is hereby notified that the Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the Floyd Messer, Jr Town Hall Board Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, North Carolina. 

The purpose of the hearing is to consider a text amendment to the Emerald Isle Unified Development Ordinance, Appendix A, Chapter 2, Sections 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 to amend the terms of office for the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment from two (2) years to three (3) years; stagger the terms to reflect the changes to the terms of office; create a separate Board of Adjustment and modify the duties of the Planning Board to align with the NC General Statutes;. 

The public is hereby informed and asked to attend. The text amendment may be reviewed in the Department of Planning and Inspections at the Emerald Isle Administration Building, 7509 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC 28594, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
