Notice of Special Meeting

The public is hereby notified that the Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 5:30 pm in the Town Board Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting is to appoint the 4th highest vote-getter in the 2023 Municipal Election to the Town Board. Candidate Alesia Sanderson will be asked to fill the upcoming vacancy in the Commissioner seat currently held by Jim Normile, effective as of the organizational meeting of Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at which time Sanderson will be sworn in along with Commissioners Elect Brownlow, Sawyer, and Wootten. The purpose of the meeting is also to award the following contracts: stormwater pump station generators and associated equipment to KB Power Systems for the quoted amount of $439,607.55, and the Community Center generator and associated equipment to Cape Fear Generators for the quoted amount of $97,000.
