Emerald Isle Commissioner Vacates Board Seat
During a special meeting on April 20, 2022, the Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners voted to accept the resignation of Commissioner Candace Dooley, who will be stepping down from her seat, effective immediately.
She was re-elected in November for a four-year term in office, which was set to conclude in 2025.
“We sincerely appreciate Candace’s time on the Board of Commissioners and the impact she has made throughout Emerald Isle in this role,” said Mayor Jason Holland.
"It has been an absolute pleasure to serve this community," said Ms. Dooley.
As required by state General Statutes, the Board of Commissioners will appoint an individual to fill the unexpired term until the next election in November 2023. The Board is expected to make an appointment at the regularly scheduled May 10, 2022 meeting.
