Friday, September 30, 2022 - 12:40 p.m. National Weather Service Update:
A Tornado Watch has been issued for the area through 10 p.m. As heavier bands of rain move through our area, a few tornadoes are possible. Please have multiple ways to receive warnings today, and take shelter quickly if need be. A heavy rain threat persists, along with coastal flooding and wind.
Thursday, September 28, 2022: 6 a.m. National Weather Service Update:
Carteret County, including Emerald Isle, is now under a Tropical Storm Warning. Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories are now in effect, due to long duration strong NE winds that will produce minor to moderate coastal flooding. View the weather briefing from this NWS update here.
Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022 - 5 p.m. National Weather Service Update:
Carteret County, including Emerald Isle, is under a Tropical Storm Watch. The National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City says the main impacts remain periods of heavy rain and gusty winds, with coastal flooding, surge and elevated water, Thursday through Saturday. Please keep the following Town updates in mind:
- Residents and property owners are asked to not place yard debris by the curbside until after Sunday.
- Beach driving is suspended Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 2.
- There will be no garbage collection for oceanside properties on Friday, September 30.
- Red flags are flying, and it is recommended you stay out of the water.
